We are hiring caring and fun poderators to support our small learning pods. If you’re looking for a job that pays well and is fulfilling, look no further!
WHAT’S A PODERATOR?
A Poderator is a caregiver who facilitates the distance learning for a group of four to eight school-age kids (K-8th). Poderators are responsible for ensuring students complete their assigned distance learning, in addition to preparing supplemental activities as needed. Join our team and be part of the solution to our educational crisis during this global pandemic.
Our Poderators enjoy many benefits, including:
- A competitive salary ranging from $800/week for those with no degree or experience, up to $1,300/week for experienced teachers
- Training and ongoing support from our team to help you adapt to this new educational environment
- Matched with learning pods based on families who are following similar health protocols to you
- Multiple models provides flexibility in your time commitment
- Paid sick time
- Opportunity to create strong relationships with the students in your pod
This is a great opportunity for any teacher nervous to return in-person, retired teachers, professionals looking for a short-term gig, or parents who want to lead their own pod and get paid!
All poderator candidates will need to complete an online application. We review applications on a rolling basis.
Applicants whose qualifications match our needs will be invited to complete a virtual interview with a member of the Houston Learning Pods team. This screening will include multiple scenario-based questions, role plays, and a deeper dive into your previous experiences.
Candidates who pass the virtual screen will be sent to an individual pod for a final placement interview (also completed virtually). Pod parents have the final say in who is hired to be their poderator.
REFERENCES & BACKGROUND CHECK
While candidates are in the Placement Interview phase, the Houston Learning Pods team will conduct reference checks and initiate the background check process.
HIRING & ONBOARDING
With the exception of our private poderators, all others will be considered employees of Houston Learning Pods and will receive an official offer letter from our team. You will be required to attend onboarding training (virtually), in addition to completing several new hire assignments before beginning full-time.
